❓ General Questions
We provide pet sitting services throughout the Sunshine Coast, from Gibsons to Sechelt, BC. We're happy to serve clients in all communities within this area.
We care for dogs, cats, and small animals including birds, rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs. If you have a pet not listed here, please reach out to discuss your specific needs.
Ocea Whyte is ACA1 certified with extensive hands-on experience in animal welfare and professional pet care. You can trust your pets are in capable, experienced hands.
I specialize in overnight in-home pet care (7+ nights), which reduces stress for pets by keeping them in their familiar environment. I maintain their regular routines, provide personalized attention, and have experience with anxious pets. Please note: if your pet cannot be left alone for 8 hours a day, 4 days a week, I may not be the right fit at this time.
Yes! We're certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, Animal Welfare Professional, and AnimalKind Accredited. We also pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in pet care.
I provide overnight stays (5pm - 7am) 7 days a week. The booking window is within the next 6 months. Contact me to discuss your specific requirements.
💰 Services & Rates
I offer overnight in-home pet sitting only (7+ nights). This includes staying in your home from 5pm to 7am, feeding, medication administration, playtime, and daily photo updates. I do not offer dog walking or drop-in visits.

I stay in your home from 5pm to 7am, ensuring your pets have companionship throughout the night. This maintains your pet's normal routine and reduces stress by keeping them in their familiar environment.
Each overnight stay includes feeding per your schedule, fresh water, litter box cleaning or potty breaks, playtime and exercise, medication administration if needed, and daily photo updates with care reports.
Absolutely. We're experienced in administering oral medications, injectable medications, and supplements. Just let us know your pet's medication schedule and requirements during the initial consultation.
Yes! We provide daily updates with photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are happy and well-cared-for. We can also send more frequent updates upon request.
📅 Booking & Scheduling
Booking is easy! Start by contacting us via email or phone to discuss your needs. We'll schedule a complimentary meet and greet to meet you and your pets. After that, you can book your first appointment through our online system or by phone.
I accept bookings within the next 6 months. I recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred dates, especially during peak seasons. A $200 deposit is required for new clients to confirm your booking.
For new clients, a $200 deposit is required to confirm your booking. Cancellations with 7+ days notice receive a full refund (deposit applied to stay or refunded). Cancellations with less than 7 days notice are non-refundable. Returning clients follow the same 7-day policy without a deposit.
Yes, we require a complimentary meet and greet before your first booking. This allows us to meet you and your pets, review care instructions, and ensure everyone is comfortable before the service begins.
Emergency/short-term sits are available at $150/night when my schedule permits, but my priority is bookings of 7 nights or more.
I accept e-transfer and cash. Payment is due upon completion of services. Invoices are provided for your records.
🐾 Pet Care & Safety
Safety is our top priority. We follow secure home practices, never leave pets unattended, use leashes and harnesses appropriately, and maintain constant supervision during walks and playtime.
If your pet shows signs of illness or injury, we'll immediately contact you and your preferred veterinarian. For emergencies, we'll seek veterinary care right away while keeping you informed throughout the process.
Yes! I have extensive experience working with anxious, fearful, or shy animals. I provide patient, calm care that helps pets feel safe and secure in their own home environment.
We use positive reinforcement techniques and respect each pet's boundaries. We'll follow any specific behavioral guidelines you provide and communicate any concerns with you immediately.
Absolutely! We follow your established routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest. Consistency is key to keeping pets happy and comfortable while you're away.
Yes, we're happy to provide references from satisfied clients. During the meet and greet, we can share contact information for clients who have given permission to be contacted.
🚨 Emergency Procedures
In an emergency, we'll immediately contact your veterinarian and you simultaneously. We'll administer first aid if needed and trained to handle various pet emergencies. We'll stay with your pet until help arrives.
Yes! We maintain current certification in Pet First Aid and CPR. This training covers choking, bleeding, poisoning, heatstroke, and other common pet emergencies.
Yes, we have a network of trusted, pre-screened backup pet sitters in our professional community. If we're ever unable to fulfill a booking, a qualified backup will be arranged with your approval.
We work with all local Sunshine Coast veterinary clinics including Coast Veterinary Clinic in Sechelt and veterinary services in Gibsons. We can also accommodate visits to your preferred clinic.
We require a credit card on file for emergency expenses. For non-life-threatening situations, we'll contact you for approval before incurring any expenses. For emergencies, we'll act immediately to ensure your pet's safety and discuss expenses afterward.
